Knee Joint Replacements

Total and Unicompartmental

Arthritis (a wear and tear disease) can affect all or part of a knee. Depending on the pattern of wear, this can be replaced with a partial or total knee prosthesis.

Osteotomies around the knee

Young adults who develop pain in their knee may be in the early stages of arthritis. This is usually caused by abnormal loading of one side of the knee. Osteotomies are cuts in the bone which can help realign the leg and slow down the progression of arthritis.

Sports Knee surgery

The knee contains menisci (shock absorbers), and ligaments which help stabilize the knee. These can be injured, typically with twisting movements seen in certain sports. There are various procedures done with knee arthroscopy (key-hole surgery) to address this.

Carpal Tunnel Release

Numbness or “pins and needles” in the hand can be caused by excess pressure on a nerve that runs through a tunnel at the level of the wrist. This can be alleviated by surgically opening the roof of the tunnel.
